Brett Hull passed the 60-goal plateau for the second consecutive season by scoring twice to lead the St. Louis Blues past the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2, Thursday night at Vancouver.

Hull scored his 60th goal of the season to tie the score, 1-1, in the second period, then broke a 2-2 tie with No. 61 at 2:46 of the third.

The son of former great Bobby Hull led the NHL in goals last season with 72.

Chicago 2, Quebec 1--Jeremy Roenick’s goal 1:26 into overtime spoiled a 46-save effort by Nordique rookie Stephane Fiset and the Blackhawks won at Chicago.

Roenick scored his 30th goal when he knocked a rebound past Fiset, 20, on the Blackhawks’ 48th shot after the rookie kept Quebec in the game during Chicago’s 25-shot third-period barrage.

Rookie Kip Miller scored for Quebec and Chicago’s Jocelyn Lemieux tied the game 20 seconds into the third period.

Pittsburgh 5, New York Islanders 2--John Cullen, Mario Lemieux and Bob Errey scored in the third period and the Penguins overcame the Islanders at Pittsburgh to end a three-game losing streak.

Winnipeg 3, New Jersey 3--Mark Osborne deflected a cross-ice pass by Paul MacDermid past Sean Burke with 1:29 left in regulation to get the Jets even with the Devils at East Rutherford, N.J.

Winnipeg’s Rick Tabaracci preserved the tie in overtime, stopping Dave Maley from short range.
