Toyota to Cut U.S.-Bound Car Exports: Toyota Motor Corp. will cut exports to the United States by 10,000 vehicles during February and March because of the soft American market, President Shoichiro Toyoda said. But Toyoda stressed at a news conference that the auto maker, Japan’s largest, would not reduce production at its plants in California and Kentucky since that could further damage the sagging U.S. economy. Toyota’s sales in the United States fell to 63,568 in January, an estimated 13% less than a year ago, according to Yoshiharu Tateishi, manager of Toyota’s International Public Affairs Division.
