Missing Woman Turns Up in Dallas

A 36-year-old disabled woman who disappeared more than a week ago has turned up in Dallas, where she apparently moved without telling her roommate, authorities said Friday.

Katrina K. Laurent, who suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy, was reported missing Feb. 16 by her roommate. She was last seen Feb. 14 en route to her doctor’s office in Costa Mesa, said Lt. Richard J. Olson, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

Her wheelchair was later found abandoned at Knott’s Berry Farm.

A cabdriver who stops at the amusement park told investigators that he picked up Laurent on Feb. 14 and took her to a bus depot, Olson said, adding that there was no suggestion of foul play.
