SLAM JAM: One of L.A.’s fave club attractions, the Ringling Sisters, played a rare birthday party gig--at tennis star John McEnroe’s 32nd birthday bash at his home in Malibu. On hand to celebrate along with McEnroe and wife Tatum O’Neal were celeb-couples Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore and Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli. After the Sisters’ were finished, they kicked off an all-star jam, joined by McEnroe on guitar, who sang Led Zeppelin’s “Rock & Roll”; Willis, who played harmonica, and Springsteen, who crooned “C.C. Rider.” . . . Talk about timely: Rhino Records is releasing a collection of vintage anti-war songs titled “Songs of Protest.” The compilation features such hits as Barry McGuire’s “Eve of Destruction,” Edwin Starr’s “War,” Eric Burdon’s “Sky Pilot,” Donovan’s “Universal Soldier” and Phil Ochs’ “I Ain’t Marchin’ Anymore.”
