Quake Jars Rural China

BEIJING —
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 shook a sparsely populated border region of remote western China, injuring at least three people and destroying 120 houses, officials said. The epicenter of Monday’s quake was traced to the town of Keping in northwestern Xinjiang.
