Satellite, TV Relay Unit Orbited by French Rocket

KOUROU, French Guiana —
A French-built Ariane 4 rocket hurled a European weather satellite and a television relay station into orbit Saturday, officials said. The 192-foot, three-stage rocket took off from its launching pad at the European Space Agency’s jungle space complex on the northern coast of South America.
