Scanning Management to Market Circuit Boards

Scanning Management Systems of Canoga Park said it reached an agreement with Avalon Design & Manufacturing Inc. of Costa Mesa to exclusively market certain of Avalon’s electronic circuit boards. The deal is valued at more than $3 million.
The boards are used with point-of-sale scanning systems at markets and other retail outlets. Scanning, a unit of BellSouth Corp.’s Dataserv Inc. subsidiary, specializes in developing software programs for such scanning systems.
The agreement gives Scanning exclusive domestic and international marketing and manufacturing control rights to the circuit boards involved, the company said.
