Pomona : Funding for Audit OKd

Share

The City Council has voted to spend $60,000 to partially fund a management audit of the city Redevelopment Agency and Community Development Department by the accounting firm Price Waterhouse.

The Los Angeles County grand jury will pay the remaining cost of the audit--$30,000--and will oversee the study.

The study will include a review of the findings of a private detective agency hired by the city to investigate allegations of improprieties, interviews of key personnel and an analysis of a random selection of case files.

In a letter to the city, a Price Waterhouse official said that the audit will not draw conclusions about “any specific instance of improper action or management failure” but will offer advice on “how to strengthen management and internal controls.”
