Digital to Go Into Czechoslovakia: In its latest bid to expand sales in Eastern Europe, Digital Equipment Corp. will open a wholly owned subsidiary in Czechoslovakia by June. The Maynard, Mass.-based computer giant will spend $5 million to set up a sales and marketing company in Prague. It will open an office in Bratislava by fall. Most of the products sold in Czechoslovakia will likely be made at Digital facilities elsewhere in Europe, the company said. Digital, the No. 2 U.S. computer behind International Business Machines Corp., said it has been surprised by the success of its first East European subsidiary, a joint venture started last year in Hungary.
