Allied Victory in Mideast War

I would like to thank you for including the list of American casualties in the March 3rd paper. That simple list spoke to me more strongly and made the war more real than any other thing that I have read or seen. So far this conflict has primarily been one of numbers--this many sorties flown, that many tanks destroyed. The high technology of today’s battlefield has caused the war to sometimes seem like a big video game. Your list showed that people, instead of machines, fight wars.

As I looked at the list of names and read the ages, I realized that this was a war of my generation. Several of the men were my age or a little bit younger; I could easily have been in their place.

I hope that we do not forget to show support for the families and loved ones of those who gave their lives in the Gulf. It will be easy to forget that we lost people; we shouldn’t let that happen.
