A Record in Chicago: A Van Gogh floral still-life that hung unrecognized on the wall of a Milwaukee apartment for 30 years was sold at auction in Chicago on Sunday for $1.3 million. The auction at the Leslie Hindman Gallery took only 2 1/2 minutes. Neither the purchaser, a private collector, nor the seller was identified. The price reportedly was the highest ever paid in Chicago for a work of art.
