The Minnesota North Stars’ sharp play at home has slowed, at least temporarily, the determined drive of the Calgary Flames.

Mike Modano’s power-play goal sparked a four-goal rally during the second period at Bloomington, Minn., that carried the North Stars to a 7-3 victory Sunday.

The North Stars, in extending their home streak to 9-0-2 stopped the Flames’ six-game winning streak. It was only the second loss in the last 16 games for the Flames.
