A Pioneering Role for Lange: Academy Award-winning actress Jessica Lange will star in her first TV movie next season, a “Hallmark Hall of Fame” production of “O Pioneers!” based on the 1913 novel of the Nebraska prairie by Willa Cather. “O Pioneers!” will be produced and directed by Glenn Jordan, whose recent Hallmark projects include “Sarah, Plain and Tall” and “Promise.” Coming up in the meantime on PBS’ “American Playhouse” series is a staged production of “O Pioneers!,” starring Mary McDonnell (an Oscar nominee for “Dances With Wolves”). It is due May 17.
