A public outcry has persuaded Japanese businessman Minoru Isutani to scale-down a plan for estate homes and private memberships at his Pebble Beach Co. and its Monterey Peninsula golf course, according to the San Francisco Examiner. The newspaper reported that Isutani will reduce by half the 900 multimillion-dollar homes he planned to build near the course and will also kill his design for a hotel and club.
