S&L; Robber Drops Loot During Escape
IRVINE —
A masked gunman robbed a savings and loan Friday, but dropped the stolen money as he made his getaway, police said.
The robbery occurred about 9:30 a.m. at a branch of World Savings & Loan, 3880 Michelson Drive.
Police said the man walked into the building, pointed a gun at a teller and demanded that money be put into a bag. As the gunman left, apparently by accident he dropped the bag, which contained an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
All of the money was recovered.
