Indictment for Trading in Dead Ducks, Geese: Three men were indicted for violating the Migratory Bird Treaty Act by killing ducks and geese and commercially selling their stuffed and/or mounted bodies and heads. The federal grand jury returned indictments against Parvis Javanshir, also known as Patrick Javanshir, of Los Angeles; Greg Heil of Ventura, and David Newton of Douglas City. The defendants sold the birds through businesses in Los Angeles, Ventura and another Southern California location. If convicted, they face up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each offense. (Case No. 91-54. Filed March 12.)
