Nikoli Ettyne and Alexandr Reznyuk, the first two Soviets to participate in the 1,163-mile Iditarod sled dog race, took 17 1/2 days to reach the finish in Nome, Alaska, five days behind the winner. The Soviets finished 36th and 37th out of 60 mushers who have remained in the race. Seventy-five mushers left Anchorage on March 2.
