British Credit Card Fraud Tops $50 Million

LONDON —
British credit card fraud rose 25% to its highest level ever last year and police blamed organized criminals who use the stolen money to finance drugs and pornography.
The Assn. for Payment Clearing Services, a group of 20 major banks and building societies, said Thursday that credit card fraud topped $50 million last year.
