Keenen Ivory Wayans is scheduled to write, direct and star in B. Boys Productions’ “Lloyd of London.” Wayans plays a D.C. cop who teams with a Scotland Yard detective to solve a series of international killings and bank robberies. The Universal release, produced by Tamara Rawitt, rolls April 22 in L.A., Chicago and London.

Tony Goldwyn, in his first movie role since “Ghost,” joins Christian Slater in “Hero Wanted,” an action-comedy that marks the directing debut of Bruce A. Evans, who wrote the script with his partner, producer Raynold Gideon. The Dino De Laurentiis Communications production for Universal shoots mid-April in L.A. and San Francisco.

Raul Julia and French stars Sondrine Bonnaire (“Vagabond”) and Jean-Marc Barr (“The Big Blue”) join William Hurt in the film adaptation of Albert Camus’ “The Plague,” written and directed by Luis Puenzo. The film, produced by Jonathan Prince, John Pepper and their French co-partner CFC, gets underway in Argentina in late July.

James Earl Jones, Leigh Taylor-Young, Mike Connors and Patrick O’Neal head the cast for MRB Group’s “I Can’t Lose,” based on the true story of Bruce Jennings, a Fullerton high school athlete who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. Matt Geriak, who lost his leg to cancer, plays Jennings. William Brown will direct his own screenplay for producer Jack McLean.

Jami Gertz, Dylan McDermott, Vincent Gardenia and Lori Patty star in Electric Pictures/Interscope Communications’ “Jersey Girls,” a story of a woman whose male relationships jeopardize her female friendships. David Burton Morris directs Gina Wendkos’ script for producer David Madden. The film rolls in May in New Jersey and New York.

In “Beethoven,” Charles Grodin stars as an aging Yuppie whose family adopts a St. Bernard named Beethoven. Ivan Reitman produces and Steve Rash directs for Universal beginning April 18.

Polish star Beata Pozniak will play Marina Oswald in Oliver Stone’s “JFK” project based on former New Orleans D.A. James Garrison’s investigations into the assassination of President Kennedy. The Warners film stars Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Sissy Spacek and Glenn Ford. Jack Lemmon, Sally Kirkland and John Candy will do cameos. Production begins April 15 in Dallas.
