Restoration of Emir’s Palace

The liberation of Kuwait was just and well executed by the allies. Having said this, I am appalled by Kuwait’s official elitist attitudes and actions.
Their treatment of captured Iraqi soldiers is despicable. There is no question that a great number of the Iraqi soldiers are forced draftees. The indiscriminate and on-the-spot executions of the soldiers must be condemned.
In addition, their cruel rejection of returning “non-citizen” Kuwaitis signals a sort of planned purification of Kuwaiti society. This must also be strongly condemned. I am disheartened to see how soon the oppressed has become the oppressor.
