Office Vacancy Rate Hits 27% in Ventura County

Ventura County’s office vacancy rate, at 27.1%, is the third highest among “suburban” areas across the nation, according to a study by Salomon Bros., an investment banking firm.

According to the study, the county’s office vacancy rose to 27.1% as of Dec. 31, 1990, from 21.8% on Sept. 30, 1990, and 21% on June 30, 1990.

Only the vacancy rates in Palm Beach County, Fla., and in Stamford, Conn.-- 29% and 29.3% respectively--were higher, the study said.
