YORBA LINDA : City OKs Grants for Low-Income Homes

Share

Two private projects in downtown Yorba Linda will receive a total of $50,000 in community development block grant money under an agreement between the city and the county.

The City Council approved contracts with the county that will give money to low- to moderate-income business and property owners in the city’s historic district to upgrade commercial masonry buildings with living quarters. The money also could be used to make the buildings seismically safe.

City officials say that the grants will add to Yorba Linda’s low- to moderate-income housing stock.

Business and property owners within the Town Center area, which is bordered by Lemon Drive, Lakeview Avenue, Imperial Highway and Yorba Linda Boulevard, are eligible for $25,000 of the grant. Another $25,000 will be provided to rehabilitate structures on Main Street.
