MISSION VIEJO : City to Soon Order Trimming of Weeds
Whether they have a vacant lot overgrown with vegetation or a perennially unmowed lawn, property owners will soon begin receiving notices from the city to trim their weeds.
The notices will be sent around April 1 to the owners of about 450 properties. There will be an April 22 public hearing for property owners who believe that they were wrongly placed on the list.
For those who don’t protest or who fail to trim their weeds themselves, the weed abatement will be carried out by a city-hired work crew. The property owner will be billed for the work, City Engineer Dennis Wilberg said.
