55-Year Sentence for $164 Theft Commuted

COLUMBUS, Ohio —
Gov. George V. Voinovich on Monday commuted the sentence of a parolee who spent nine years in prison for charging $164.08 worth of merchandise on a stolen credit card.
Larry Brown, 55, was sentenced in 1980 to serve up to 55 years in prison for charging meals, gasoline and a clock radio on the stolen Visa card.
