COUNTYWIDE : Waste Hauler Fined Over Paperwork
A Long Beach man convicted of improperly listing and labeling hazardous waste he was hauling from Ventura County to Long Beach has been fined $5,000 and sentenced to three years’ probation, according to the county district attorney’s office.
David Louis Knoedler, 33, an employee of Nagsco of Long Beach, a waste transport company, pleaded guilty to not filling out the proper paperwork for the hazardous waste that he picked up from various Ventura County businesses.
Nagsco removes waste or sludge from “hot tanks,” used to clean automotive parts and other equipment, Deputy Dist. Atty. Linda Groberg said. The sludge often contains heavy metals, including lead, and must be handled as a hazardous waste.
