Beach Patrol: “China Beach” has been beached too long, says its co-creator and executive producer. “We are tired of hiatus. We are tired of being treated like a badly-done show that has done badly. Neither is true,” John Sacret Young declared Tuesday at a press conference. “Limb by limb, along with words of praise, ABC has shot the life out of the show. The truth is that ‘China Beach’ has been effectively cancelled.” ABC’s response: “ ‘China Beach’ hasn’t been cancelled, and we do intend to bring it back, but we just haven’t slotted it. We have other shows to try out this spring and other series to try in new time periods,” said a network spokesman. “China Beach,” which stars Dana Delany, has been “on hiatus” since last December, and has seven unseen shows to air.
