AT&T; Sells Stake in Unix Unit: Trying to get wider play for its popular computer operating system, American Telephone & Telegraph said it sold 20% to 30% of its Unix subsidiary to companies based in Europe, Japan and the United States but said it will not disclose details until today. In selling the stake, AT&T; has effectively relinquished some control over its computer operating system, which has grown in popularity recently as the industry moves to adopt more flexible standards.
