‘Sarafina!’ Sighting: “Sarafina!” the South African musical, could replace Alan Ayckbourn’s “Henceforward . . .” in the July 13-Sept. 29 slot of the Ahmanson at the Doolittle season. Tom Moore, director of “Henceforward . . .,” which earlier was bumped from the 1989-90 Ahmanson season, said the problem is in casting the male lead--although “ostensibly the major role,” it isn’t considered as “plum” as two women’s roles. “Sarafina!” has been looking for an L.A. berth since a booking scheduled to begin Jan. 30 at the downtown Orpheum Theatre was canceled by local producers who feared the Gulf War would affect the box office.
