If your rung on the corporate ladder doesn’t include a window office, take heart: Stephen Schubert can create one. Using hand-painted or -sprayed gator board, Schubert designs custom wall sculptures around a window motif. The views range from simple country scenes to high-tech skylines.

One recent work depicts shutters open to a peaceful night sky while a Renaissance-like still life of bread, wine and fruit rests on a table just inside the “window.” These two-dimensional semi- trompe l’oeil pieces seem to invite the viewer inside--or outside--to enjoy the fantasy.

Schubert calls upon his dreams, fantasies and childhood memories for inspiration. He also creates abstract, multidimensional clocks, which he sometimes incorporates into sculptures. The wall sculptures range in price from $450 to $1,500.
