PepsiCo Plans $1.5-Billion Expansion: The Purchase, N.Y., company said much of the money will go towarding enlarging its restaurant chains, including Costa Mesa-based Taco Bell. PepsiCo, whose 19,500 fast-food outlets make it the world’s biggest restaurant operator, said in its annual report that about $600 million is being earmarked for new Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell outlets.
