Airlines Post First Loss Since 1982: Commercial airlines around the world suffered operating losses of $2.6 billion last year, the industry’s first red ink since 1982, the International Civil Aviation Organization said. Last year’s bleak performance contrasted with a profit of $7.9 billion in 1989, the U.N. agency said.
