Marble Mausoleum Vaults Damaged by Vandals
Vandals who broke into a Compton cemetery damaged the fronts of several marble mausoleum vaults, police said Monday.
An employee who spotted the vandalism at Angeles Abbey Memorial Park, 1515 E. Compton Blvd., notified Compton police, said Detective Lt. Percy Perrodin. It appeared that the marble facing above nine mausoleum vaults had been struck with a hammer or some type of hard metal object, he said, adding that a coffin was inside one of the vaults. The other eight were empty, he said.
