Dave Parker’s third-inning single Tuesday was the 2,600th hit of his career. He is 54th on the all-time list. . . . Eight games into the season, the Angels had 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts. They didn’t have 11 steals last season until their 25th game. . . . The A’s put right-hander Todd Burns on the disabled list because of a right shoulder strain and recalled right-hander John Briscoe from Huntsville of the Southern League. . . . Rickey Henderson (strained left calf muscle) is improving but will miss the rest of this series.
