Pianist, Chamber Trio Open 10th Season of Concert Series
The 1991 San Buenaventura City Hall Concert Series will open its 10th anniversary season Sunday with piano virtuoso Sofia Cosma. She will be joined by Ventura County’s premiere chamber trio, the Albani Trio. The concert, starting at 8 p.m., will span two centuries of music with works by three composers.
The program will consist of Sonatina for Violin and Cello by Arthur Honegger, Trio in C Minor, Op. 9 No. 3 by Beethoven and Quartet No. 1 in G Minor by Brahms.
The series includes performances by pianist Bryan Pezzone and his wife, flutist Susan Pezzone, May 17 and classical guitarist master Carlos Gonzales June 15. Before the concert, an “informance” with the performers and series Music Director Robert Lawson introduces each evening’s composers at 7 p.m.
Concerts are held in the City Hall foyer, 501 Poli St., Ventura.
Season subscriptions are $20; $18 for Ventura Arts Council members. Individual tickets are $8. For more information, call 658-4736.
