Low-Income Units to Be Enlarged
Five one-bedroom apartments in Anaheim’s Park Vista development project will be converted to two-bedroom units for low-income families, city officials said.
Park Vista, a joint development project between the city and a private developer, was built two years ago as part of the city’s efforts to improve the blighted Chevy Chase neighborhood. City housing officials hope to attract more families by making larger apartments available.
Of the 392 units in the gated community, 98 were set aside for low-income tenants. Of those 98, there were 20 with one bedroom, 77 with two bedrooms and one with three bedrooms.
Low-income families are considered those making less than 80% of the county median, or less than $35,700 for a family of four. Very-low-income families are those making less than 50% of the median, or $24,500 for a family of four.
