Richard Jenkins, acting head of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office in Pomona, said he will wait until at least Wednesday before deciding whether to file misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence against Bill Shoemaker, horse racing’s all-time winningest jockey. Shoemaker, 59, was involved in an alcohol-related crash April 8 on the Foothill Freeway in San Dimas that has left him with a broken neck and paralyzed from the upper chest down.
