AST Research Executive Resigns: James W. Ashbrook has resigned as senior vice president of marketing at AST Research Inc., the company said Friday. Ashbrook, the highest-ranking officer to leave the Irvine personal computer maker since co-founder Albert Wong resigned in 1988, will continue with AST as a consultant on the Japanese market. Ashbrook joined AST in 1986 as vice president of marketing. Tom Yuen, co-chairman and chief operating officer, said former AST officer Michael Moran will replace Ashbrook as director of marketing. “The separation is cordial and well-planned,” Yuen said.
