Search to Resume for Missing Sailboat
A 40-foot sailboat with three people on board was still missing late Friday, after an all-day search by the Coast Guard between the Mexican border and Dana Point in Orange County.
The boat, named the Eagle, left San Diego Bay on Wednesday and was to have arrived in Marina Del Rey on Thursday, when it was reported missing, said a Coast Guard spokesman.
Two Coast Guard helicopters and an airplane looked for the boat all day before the search was called off late Friday, the spokesman said. The search will resume early today.
The spokesman declined to identify the people on board but said the owner of the boat was from San Diego.
