The KOCE public affairs package consisted of “The Southeast Asians: An American Success Story”; “The Orange County Air Terminal Takes Off,” and an election special, “Half-Cent Sales Tax for Transportation.” “Psychology: The Study of Human Behavior” was nominated as an instructional series.

The KDOC programs, produced by a Burbank company, were “The Thea Bowman Special,” “In the Footsteps of Peter and Paul,” and “John Michael Talbot: Quiet Reflections,’ all competing in the special class programming category; and “I Can Hear the Laughter,” a segment of the “A New Beginning” show, which was nominated for outstanding informational segment.
