Paramount Said to Be Wooing Tartikoff: Paramount Communications Inc. is talking to Brandon Tartikoff, chairman of NBC Entertainment, about joining the movie studio in a high-level executive position, industry sources said. Tartikoff, 42, is believed to be one of several candidates Paramount has approached to fill the post vacated by former Paramount Pictures Chief Executive Frank Mancuso last month. The NBC programming chief is credited, along with former NBC Chairman Grant Tinker, with digging NBC out of third place in the early to mid-1980s and steering the network into six consecutive winning prime-time seasons. Both Paramount and NBC declined to comment.
