SCENE ON THE STREET : Shirting the Issues

The medium is the message. So are the small, the large and the extra large.

For the last few decades, people who would never dream of wearing their hearts on their sleeves have worn their heads on their chests.

Hey, people should be up front about their ideals. Activist T-shirts are as timesaving as wedding rings. Why waste your time at a dance, or a march for that matter, on someone unavailable or unsuitable? Say you’d like to stamp out a few elephants to make an ivory hot tub and you fall for some guy’s back, and then he turns around?

Perhaps to avoid this sort of social predicament, these days a lot of T-shirt manufacturers are creating activist sandwiches, garnishing the bod--front and back--with the message.
