Hardwick (Wick) Simmons has been named president and chief executive of Prudential Securities Inc., a Newark, N.J.-based unit of the Prudential. Simmons, former president of Shearson Lehman Bros.’ retail organization, will assume his new position on May 1, succeeding Robert A. Beck, chairman emeritus of the Prudential, who has been serving as acting CEO of Prudential Securities since Feb. 13.
