Visa Has Record $345.6 Billion in Card Sales: Visa International said it had a 33% jump in card sales to a record $345.6 billion in 1990. The number of Visa cards increased 16.4% to 256.7 million, and the number of places where they are accepted exceeded 9 million, compared to 8 million in 1989. Meanwhile, sales of travelers checks rose 18.3% to $13.7 billion.
