Why Was Armenia Left Off the Map?

Share

In the article, “Soviet Republic Strives to Break Economic Ranks With Moscow” (April 23), you included a map of Azerbaijan and the countries that border it. While all the other countries and republics in the region are clearly named--whether or not they share a border with Azerbaijan, Armenia was represented as an unlabeled, blank stretch of land.

I find this discrepancy extremely offensive, especially on the eve of April 24, the day of commemoration for the victims of the Armenian genocide.

The implications of this subtle “oversight” are blatantly anti-Armenian and must be clarified if The Times wants to redeem its image as an impartial newspaper.
