AT&T; Says NCR Talks Progressing: AT&T; and NCR Corp. appeared to move closer to an agreement that would allow the phone company to take over the computer maker. The phone company said in a statement released by both firms that “progress” was being made in their talks. However, AT&T; stopped short of saying that an agreement would be reached as a result of the weekend negotiations. The companies have been wrangling for months over AT&T;’s hostile takeover bid for Dayton, Ohio-based NCR. At issue in the latest stage of negotiations is the price AT&T; should pay.
