Pasadena : City Costs to Be Analyzed

Share

The cost of all city operations, funds and agencies will be analyzed by Management Services Institute Inc., under a $295,000 contract approved by city directors last week.

The computerized analysis will take up to two years and is part of an overall city management information system, expected to help the city measure the cost of providing services. Based on the analysis, the city could revise city fees to recover costs, as was done in Sierra Madre last year.

Under terms of the contract approved Tuesday, if Pasadena saves at least $750,000 from the information in the first year of its use, MSI will receive an additional $50,000 payment. Three more $50,000 payments will be received in the next three years if the city saves an additional $250,000 each year.
