Yields Up on New 30-Year Bonds: Yields on 30-year Treasury bonds rose in auction to the highest level in six months as the government concluded its biggest-ever $37.27-billion quarterly refunding. The average yield was 8.21%, up from 7.98% at the last auction Feb. 7. It was the highest rate since 30-year bonds averaged 8.71% Nov. 8. The bonds will carry a coupon interest rate of 8.125%, with each $10,000 in face value selling for $9,905.70. A total of $11.75 billion in bonds was sold, out of bids totaling $17.35 billion.
