Transportation Woes

Share

Regarding The Times’ April 25 article on the Coastal Transportation Corridor Specific Plan ordinance, the Department of Transportation apparently isn’t listening.

The majority of people in our area feel we can’t tolerate any more development, and we don’t want Falmouth Avenue, a dead-end street in Playa del Rey, extended to carry the traffic between the Marina and LAX. This plan would cut Playa del Rey in half and damage the Ballona Wetlands.

More development to provide money for more traffic mitigation is absurd, and I, for one, am grateful to Councilwoman Ruth Galanter for her determination to find ways to improve the mitigation funding without sacrificing the Wetlands or our residential communities.
