Com Systems Reports 1st-Quarter Turnaround

Share

Com Systems Inc., a Westlake Village long-distance telephone company, reported a profit of $547,000 in the first quarter that ended March 31, compared to a loss of $942,000 a year earlier. Revenues in the latest quarter jumped 22% to $32.8 million from $26.9 million.

The company attributed the turnaround to cost-cutting.

Com Systems last month agreed to merge with Resurgens Communications Group Inc., an Atlanta telecommunications company that owns a controlling interest in Com Systems. The merger will take the form of a stock swap and is expected to be completed in August.
