CalFed Closes Some Florida Offices: Los Angeles-based California Federal Bank has closed branches in Orlando, Eustis and Deltona and transferred $75 million in deposits to offices in the Ocala area. CalFed is paring its branch network as part of a cost-cutting program, said Senior Vice President James Hurley. In addition to the Central Florida offices, it has closed three offices in California and one in Nevada. It has also sold three California offices. The company now has 46 offices in Florida, concentrated in Palm Beach, Tampa and Ocala.
